Customised Slaughter and Boning Services
Koallah Farm produce accounts for approximately fifteen percent of overall slaughter and boning operations. The balance of works is dedicated to the servicing of 3rd party needs.
Customised slaughter and boning services are the core focus of Koallah Farm’s abattoir operations. These services range from slaughter and boning of individual animals for personal consumption, to customized slaughter and packaging for resale purposes.
Service Kill (SK)– Customers may elect to have animals slaughtered at Koallah Farm. Carcass’s may be collected from site in appropriately registered vehicles. Alternatively Koallah Farm can deliver carcass’. This service is often utilized by butchers or those with boning room facilities.
Service Kill / Full Set Boning (SKFS)– Customers may elect to have animals slaughtered at Koallah Farm, then boned and packed into primals. Finished goods are packaged and boxed available for collection from site. Alternatively Koallah farm can deliver finished goods. This service is often utilised by butchers or those with boning room facilities.
Service Kill / Piece Boning (SKPB)– Customers may elect to have animals slaughtered at Koallah Farm, boned and sliced into consumer portions. Individual cuts and pack sizes can be specified. Finished goods are packaged and boxed available for collection from site. Alternatively Koallah farm can deliver finished goods. This service is often utilized by those wishing to consume their own produce, farmer’s market attendees or those marketing their produce direct to the consumer.
Packaging and Labelling
Koallah Farm offers a range of packaging and labelling solutions. Vacuum and Shrink packaging is utilised to ensure the best presentation and shelf life of produce is achieved. Logo and personal merchandising of products is also available. Order picking and compilation is also provided to a number of 3rd party customers.
Transport and Logistics
Koallah Farm’s refrigerated transport fleet consists of a 6-Pallet Refrigerated Truck with carcass rails, 1-Tonne Refrigerated Slip-on and a 1-Tonne Delivery Van. With 3 weekly trips to Melbourne and delivery routes covering Greater Melbourne, Geelong, Bellarine, Surf Coast and the Mornington Peninsula we have all your transport and logistic needs covered.
Livestock Traceability and Stock Control
Koallah Farm’s stringent stock control systems provide visibility and transparency of livestock, work in progress and finished goods. Individual Carcass feedback and yielding reports can be generated for 3rd parties. Barcoding and unique animal identifications, ensure the integrity of all animals and products is maintained at all time.
Staffing, Quality Systems and Controls
Koallah Farm prides itself on the employment of the highest quality staff. The butchering and Slaughter team consists of 4 fully qualified butchers with a combined experience of over 75 years in the industry.
Packing and administration staff provide attention to detail and a service focused on ensuring that the highest level of service and production efficiency is achieved at all times.
A full-time Quality Assurance Manager oversees all product quality and procedural systems. Quarterly 3rd-Party audits are completed by SGS under the Victorian Meat Industry standards.
